Tight security for Sheffield's X Factor show

EXTRA security has been ordered for the X Factor Christmas show being held later this month at the O2 Academy in Sheffield The call for more security came following a performance by X Factor finalists John and Edward at a Barnsley nightclub where the twins had to be pulled off stage by their security team after bottles were hurled towards the stage from the crowd. Olly Hayes, of Gosh Management who are promoting the Christmas show, said: 'The X Factor agents have insisted that none of their acts be left alone for even a second, so on the night the finalists will have bodyguards with them from the second they arrive to the second they leave. 'The agents didn't give a specific reason for the increased security but we do know that the finalists are in the middle of pandemonium. Everyone's gone crazy for the show this year, there's global demand and they're increasing security everywhere they go due to the hysteria.' Three of this year's finalists will be performing at the show on Sunday December 20, although their identities are being kept strictly under wraps until the very last moment and will be revealed at the event by X Factor band JLS via a satellite link up. 'It's going to be a great show,' is all Olly would say. The three finalists will be supported by stars from previous series of the ITV show including Barnsley lad Alan Turner and girlband Belle Sorell who appeared at Olly Murs bootcamp this series. 'At the end of the day this is a festive family show and we're not expecting the slightest hint of trouble but we have to be prepared,' Olly added.
