Everton boss David Moyes chases Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos

Source:[Mail Online UK] Time:[GMT Dec 19 2009 11:41PM]

Everton manager David Moyes is targeting Arsenal's World Cup defender Philippe Senderos to help him get over an injury crisis at Goodison Park. Moyes wants to recruit a centre-half in January as he prepares to face Birmingham City today without 10 key players. Switzerland's Senderos, 24, has not featured for Arsene Wenger in the Premier League this season and should be available on loan. Moyes, who has already completed a short loan deal for USA star Landon Donovan, said: 'I feel we need two or three new players. I would like to bring in a centre-half on loan. I think that's a priority. I don't want to get to the stage where we are relying on young players to get to the end of the season.' Everton will be without Sylvain Distin, Dan Gosling, Jack Rodwell, Joseph Yobo (all hamstring) and Victor Anichebe, Mikel Arteta, Phil Jagielka, Phil Neville and James Vaughan (all knee) against Birmingham.
